My paintings come to life in vivid, rich and bold colors. Bright oranges, vibrant reds and soothing blues and greens that flow within my soul are
echoed into my fluid abstracts. Dark colors are often used to formulate the three dimensional illusion.
The different swirling patterns, textures and depths make it more intriguing as I am dancing with the flow of colors moving left and right, trying to
catch a color here and a color there. No time for me to take a break, the wonders of the colors are moving. I must improvise, thinking fast as I
apply the paint.
I am a Software and Chemical Engineer working full time. I started painting back in the early nineties (1992-1993). I enjoyed working with
pastels in different areas: portraits, landscapes, architectural structures, still life. A year ago, finally I was able to go back again to painting and
was soon invited to display my work with an artist friend. Most of the paintings I did at that time were tasteful nudes as suggested by a client.
That feeling haunted me, and just wouldn't go away.
Then, one long weekend in January 2006, I was almost exploding with the creative desire to paint, mostly abstracts. And, that I did - for three
whole days. I just could not stop, even waking up in the middle of the night and going straight to my canvas. My paintings are my getaway to
places I haven’t seen and places I haven’t been to. They take me away to a relaxing world where everything else seems to fade away.
My work has been displayed mainly in Northern VA, won Honorable Award by the Reston Art League, and was selected for the AWSS juried
show. I am member of Reston Arts, The Fairfax Art League and the Arts Council of Fairfax County.
